Turn each letter of the name into a digit and add them together. For Russian-language names, a cyclical 1–9 chart is commonly used: А, И, С, Ы = 1; Б, Й, Т, Ь = 2; В, К, У, Э = 3; Г, Л, Ф, Ю = 4; Д, М, Х, Я = 5; Е, Н, Ц = 6; Ё, О, Ч = 7; Ж, П, Ш = 8; З, Р, Щ = 9. Ignore spaces and punctuation. Reduce the total through digit reduction: add the digits of the number until you get 1–9, except for the Master Numbers 11 and 22, which are kept intact.
Example: the name «Анна» → А(1)+Н(6)+Н(6)+А(1)=14 → 1+4=5. The name number is therefore 5. This method is simple and transparent: you can always see which letters contributed which energy.
How to Add Two Names and Find the Couple Number
There are two effective methods. The first is to calculate each partner’s name number, then add the two results: 5 (him) + 3 (her) = 8 → reduce further if necessary. The second is to calculate the couple’s overall number by adding all the letters in the full name «He + She» as one continuous string, then reducing the result. The answers may differ: the first method reveals the dynamic between two individuals, while the second shows the “chemical formula” of their compatibility as a single shared field.
Important: if the total comes to 11 or 22, these are signs of transformation and responsibility, so they are not reduced further. If 33 appears, it is also a rare Master Number, but should be interpreted with care.
What the Couple Number Means and How to Read It in a Relationship
